The Pompei Family "Home" Page

Olivia (Boo) is the newest addition

to our family. Her mom, Andrea, is teaching

at Downey High School. Son-in-law Steve is

teaching at a middle school in Long Beach.

Marc is a Certified Flight Instructor.

The picture at left is Marc with fellow

pilot Chris and friend Bill. Marc

graduated from CSULB with a degree in

Criminal Justice.

Tony is an IT Director for Kaiser

Permanente. The picture at left is Tony,

nephew Mario and brother Chet at the

Glendora sport park named for Tony's

brother Louie, killed in the line of duty.

Marc and I flew Tony (the picture-taker)

to Camarillo for lunch. Kobe, a German

shepherd mix, was with us on a recent hike

through Rock Creek Canyon in the Sierras.

My favorite place is our home on Gull

Lake in the June Lake loop. The picture on

the left was taken from our deck. On the

right is Rock Creek Canyon, a nearby

hiking spot.

What's New with the Pompei Family

  • Tony is an IT Director for Kaiser Permanente (which takes up most of his time) and is responsible for the IT portion of the newest hospital being built in Downey as well as hospitals in Bellflower, Harbor City and Baldwin Park. He is on the industry advisory board for the CSULB CECS department. When not working, Tony is out playing tennis, golf, sailing or skiing.
  • Marc has his pilot's license and instrument, multi-engine and certified flight instructor ratings. He's been working both as a flight instructor in Long Beach and as a pilot flying charter flights out of John Wayne airport. In early October, Marc will be moving to Pensacola, Florida, to be a flight instructor for Marine, Navy and Air Force pilots. His goal is to become a corporate jet pilot. Marc likes to snowboard, golf and work out at the gym.
  • Andrea graduated from Long Beach State with a degree in communications. While attending CSULB, Andy played on the university's tennis team. After graduating and working at Fox Sports network, she returned to CSULB to get a teaching credential. She is currently teaching English at Downey High School. Andy and her husband Steve embarked on their newest path in life when they became parents of Olivia in June 2008.
  • As for me, I'm busy teaching at CSULB. When not working, I'm happiest on the tennis courts, flying an airplane (I have my pilot's license and am instrument-rated), skiing, sailing, hiking, mountain biking, working out, reading, being with friends or doing agility training with our dog Kobe (who has appeared in two films).
