CECS-174: Getting your own copy of resources

The authors of the textbook have made lots of Java code and media files available for use with the textbook. There is a clean and recent copy of these resources in each of the lab computers. You need your own copy of these resources in order to work with them and this page will give you instructions to get a copy.

  1. Select the drive named Local Disk (C:)
  2. Select the folder named intro-prog-java

Select and copy the resources

  1. Select the two folders named bookClasses and mediaSources. You can select both of these by drawn a rectacle around them -- once they're highlighted, you've selected them.
  2. From the Edit menu, select Copy -- See figure below

Paste resources to network drive

  1. Now, select the network drive named homes on 'Samba Server'
  2. Right-click on the CECS174 folder and choose Paste from the menu -- See figure below
  3. You should see a popup window informing you of the progress being made as the computer makes copies of the files into your account at the specified location.
